Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr. is an internationally respected Indigenous leader and visionary, known for over five decades of dedicated service to human, community, and economic development across the globe. A member of the Ihanktonwan Dakota and Chickasaw Nations, Chief Lane was born at the historic Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kansas in 1944.
He has worked alongside Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas, Micronesia, Southeast Asia, India, Hawaii, and Africa, guided by a deep commitment to unity, healing, and sustainable development rooted in culture and spirit. As founder of Four Worlds International Institute (FWII), Chief Lane has pioneered holistic models of development that honour ancestral knowledge while building pathways for the future. His leadership also extends through Four Directions International and First Nations Solar, advancing sustainable, culturally grounded economic initiatives.
Chief Lane is a key spiritual and relational guide for Kindred Spirits Ireland, and we are deeply honoured to welcome him as a central voice and presence during our July 2025 gatherings, including the Full Moon Eighth Fire Ceremony and the World Peace Gathering. Chief Phil Lane Jr. is also a revered spiritual leader, committed to advancing the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples worldwide. His work with global networks has helped bridge gaps between traditional Indigenous knowledge and modern solutions, fostering cross-cultural collaboration that empowers communities to thrive in harmony with the Earth.
