Ethel Branch is a Navajo Nation attorney and politician, who served as the 11th and 13th Attorney General of the Navajo Nation. Raised in Leupp, Arizona, she earned a history degree from Harvard College, a JD from Harvard Law School, and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. Branch worked in tribal law, including at Kanji & Katzen, and served as a senior editor for the Harvard Environmental Law Review.

Branch has led legal efforts in significant cases like the Gold King Mine spill and founded Navajo Hopi Solidarity to provide COVID-19 relief, raising over $5 million for struggling families. In 2023, she was reappointed Attorney General. She also ran for Navajo Nation president in 2022. Branch has received multiple honors, including the 4-H Luminary Award in 2018 and Woman of the Year by the Phoenix Indian Center in 2021.

At the World Peace Gathering in July 2025, hosted by Kindred Spirits Ireland, Ethel Branch will bring her powerful voice, grounded legal insight, and unwavering advocacy for justice and Indigenous sovereignty. Through her speaking, she will share stories of resilience, the importance of protecting sacred lands, and the role of Indigenous leadership in global healing. Her presence will serve as a bridge between legal action and spiritual renewal – reminding us that peace is not only a hope but a right we must uphold together.
