One Year Later: Reflections, Gratitude, and Looking Ahead

Over the past year, we have taken time to reflect on the journey of Kindred Spirits Ireland and the principles upon which it was founded in 2022; connection, bridge-building, compassion, integrity through conversation, and the belief that lasting peace is nurtured through respectful dialogue. As we look ahead, we believe it is an appropriate time to reaffirm the vision that first brought us together.

Kindred Spirits Ireland has always been far more than a single event. Our purpose has been to create a welcoming space where people from diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives could build authentic relationships, exchange ideas, and inspire one another, just as the Choctaw Gift of 1847 has inspired us all. We have never sought to own or direct the many projects participants brought with them. Rather, our role has been to provide an environment in which those independent initiatives could flourish.

The success of our gathering was the collective achievement of many generous people. We remain deeply grateful to every speaker, volunteer, performer, donor, sponsor, attendee, and participant who helped make it possible. We also recognize Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr.’s Peace Treaty initiative, which he had developed over many years before sharing it at our gathering, and we are pleased that Kindred Spirits Ireland provided an international platform for that important work. Due to the success of, and the meaningful connections made at, the Kindred Spirits Ireland World Peace Gathering 2025, our esteemed participants have gone on to pursue a broad diversity of projects, missions, and organizations, both their own and in cooperation with those they connected with at the gathering. As these independent initiatives continue to flourish, each guided by its own leadership and mission, Kindred Spirits Ireland wishes them all the very best on their journeys while continuing to focus on the role for which it was founded: bringing diverse people together to build lasting relationships and inspire new collaborations.

The true legacy of Kindred Spirits Ireland lives on in the friendships that were formed, the collaborations that continue today, and the bridges that were built across communities and cultures. We also remember with gratitude and prayer those dear friends who are no longer with us.

Looking ahead, our hope remains unchanged: to continue bringing people together through gatherings and other opportunities that foster mutual respect, celebrate our shared humanity, and remind us that lasting peace is built, not through personalities but through authentic relationships, one conversation at a time.
